Ladurée Les Merveilleuses

Japanese magazine 25ans has a write-up on the forthcoming launch of the Ladurée Les Merveilleuses makeup line. The name is inspired by the Merveilleuses of 18th century France, who were known for their extravagant, decadent behaviour and fashion styles inspired by the ancient Greek and Romans.

See more pics of the gorgeous line here (click on the blue tabs to scroll through the four pages of the article), Maquia's spring collections catalogue, Kuri's Beauty Report and Cafeglobe. In 25ans' interview with Ladurée Image/Communications Marketing Director Safia Thomass Bendali, she explained that Ladurée took their time carefully developing a makeup line that combined beauty with quality. The line places a great emphasis on blushes with three different formulas, as during the age of the Merveilleuses, blushing the cheeks was the main means of playing up one's feminine allure. Bendali also observed that while most Japanese women prefer basic shades, they often also want to try out new shades. The look of Les Merveilleuses is one of refined elegance, with the rouged cheeks balanced with lighter shades for the eyes and lips.

For the brand's debut at Mitsukoshi department store in Ginza, Tokyo on 29 January, there will also be a limited edition miniature size of the Face Color Rose Ladurée blush petals in a box (3360yen).

hi Kuri,
I suspect it will be similar to Jill Stuart's debut in Shibuya six years ago! It was crowded but well-managed. Hope you manage to check out the counter, I'm sure it will be lovely!

Omg. This looks too good to be true. I hope the products are as good as the packaging!

1) thanks for the link to the spring collections; it was very useful!

2) Those blush petals are very beautiful (and expensive), but I wonder if you touch them and they break into a thousand pieces.

Look interesting. I'm more interested in the range of colors rather than the packaging though.

Can't wait for it to come to Europe!!! Want it! Need it! Just have to by a lottery ticket and win some cash first... ;) xx

Maybe the blush petals are like the usual fake flower petals only coated with product, which would mean, that you still have a nice decoration once you used up the blush itself.

I wish they would also launch their cosmetics in Europe.
